Field Trip to the Dinosaur Park
Kyleigh Rae was so excited to go on her field trip and I really think that she was more excited for the bus ride than anything. She learned all about the danger zone, using the handrails, and being quiet and sitting down while the bus is moving. I am not so sure the quiet thing really happened, but she thought she was hot stuff getting onto the bus! I thought it was adorable.
For the volunteer parents, a note was sent home that we would be riding on the bus with our children. The day before the field trip another note was sent home to plan on driving ourselves due to all the volunteers that signed up. I told Kyleigh that I would be carpooling with our friends and she was not happy with me. She told me that her teacher said that some of the parents would be able to ride the bus and I told her not to plan on me. She still was upset, but we left it alone for the night. The next day it was kind of a first come first serve basis and I knew Kyleigh wanted me on the bus, so I got on. I must say that I felt like a giant and felt a little car sick during the ride, which is weird because I am not one to get car sick! Anyway I sat next to Kyleigh and she said, "See Mom, I told you. Mrs. Argyle said you could come on the bus!" I don't think she quite understood everything but I was glad it worked out that I could go with her!
I was in charge of Kyleigh and Jocelyn. They were very cute and enjoyed seeing all the mummies hiding on the dinosaurs. It was decorated for Halloween and I think that made it fun!
Ky playing hide and seek. I think it took four pictures before I actually got her looking through the hole and at the camera!
We paired up with my good friend Jenn, who was in charge of her daughter, Mikelle, and Madison. So here are the four girls right before we needed to get back on the bus.
Diggin' up bones!
Kyleigh enjoyed her first field trip and I was glad to be able to go. I wasn't sure I was going to go because of Joe working and my other children, but it worked out well. I think that the bus ride was definitely the longest part of it all and you should hear those kindergartners! They were hilarious to listen to talking about their houses, churches, gas stations, etc. It was like they expected it to be different since they weren't in their normal cars, but really it was just the same and they were amazed!
